The War Looks Different

December 30, 2025
I’ve always loved this quote because it mirrors my own juxtaposition, appearing unassuming, yet far from weak.

For those of you who share this disposition, isn’t it interesting how, when a narcissist can’t get one over on you, or if you don't do as they expect you to, you’re suddenly labeled as evil? All of a sudden, you’re a “witch,” “fake,” or whatever else fits that narrative. But let me tell you, your self-control in the face of their accusations is what keeps you guarded.

Self-control is an act of faith. Faith that your God defends you. The Lord of Heaven’s armies is your fortress.

War, in my world, looks like restraint most of the time. It looks like prayer. It looks like forgiveness. But a hardened heart will never understand why they continue to be tormented when their worn-out weapons look like lies, division, confusion, and pride that refuse to let up.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s a time to confront evil head-on, and there’s a time to be still. And 99.9% of the time, I’m commanded to stay still. But that 0.1%… oh man... It only requires truth to be spoken. The same kind that brought me to my knees when I was ignorant and filled with pride.

But once again, never make the mistake of thinking the person of peace is unskilled at war. The war just looks different, and it may be the very thing that saves someone from themselves.

Signed,
a sweet girl with a big (uppercase G) God.
