The Start of My Hair Restoration Journey

October 3, 2025
Since becoming an entrepreneur, I’ve admittedly become so busy and neglectful of my self-care routines. Running a business really does take a lot out of you. In my case, I’ve had to start over a couple of times, because God continues to cut and prune the branches.

At the start of my entrepreneurial journey, I lost all my savings trying to build someone else’s company with no proper measures in place to protect myself. When it came time to walk away, I didn’t even fight for what I was technically owed. I let it go. But in letting go of everything and starting fresh, I also let myself go. I stopped paying attention to the small things that used to make me feel grounded. Also starting a business during the pandemic felt like the hunger games....🫠

BUT GOD, in His faithfulness, restored the savings I’d lost + so much more. Yet I still haven’t learned how to fully rest in the blessings. That’s part of why Vitamin Eden exists as a reminder for rest. I still catch myself working as if constant motion could stop the rug from ever being pulled out from under me again (..but I know better..). And in that space, self-care quietly stands last in line.

Patience and Hair Runnin' Thin

I started noticing my hair thinning last year. From far it still seems full and healthy, but my scalp tells a different story. There are a few obvious factors:

  • Lack of sleep
  • Not drinking enough water
  • No good products for my hair type
  • No scalp care or regular maintenance
  • Possible vitamin deficiencies

Finding the Right Care

I recently began praying for guidance with my self-care. When you become so far removed from treating yourself, you don't even know where to start again. Also, finding the right care is something I've been so intentional about - from who makes my food to who touches my hair. Everything is an energetic transfer. While I know I'm covered spiritually, I still want to benefit physically from experiences. Our bodies know what's good for us.

Fast forward — this is where Cayman Trichology Clinic comes in.

The owner and trichologist happens to be a family friend of Bruce’s (my partner). She had reached out to our company for help with her social media, and when we visited her clinic, we were blown away by the intention poured into every detail of the space. It truly feels like a place for healing.

We decided to provide social media support for one month. We sent her some graphics for her to post to instagram, but she didn’t have much original content for us to work with. Although we weren't providing content production services, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and offer myself as talent to capture a few scenes at her clinic.

After speaking with her and hearing her heart, her beliefs, and her passion for her work, I realized I was walking into the start of my own hair restoration journey. She decided to give me a full treatment, not just staged social media clips. More than just creating content for her company, this was one of my answered prayers!

Hope in the Process

I’m feeling hopeful again. To have someone care for my scalp with such detail and love reminded me that restoration takes time and attention.

God bless the Cayman Trichology Clinic and Dr. Miller. Please check them out if you're having any concerns with your hair, or simply want the most amazing scalp spa experience!

Note:
Beyond self-care, their work is primarily rooted in healing. They’re hair loss recovery experts who address both the visible and hidden causes of scalp distress. Their treatments cover a wide spectrum of conditions, including alopecia, psoriasis, PCOS-related hair thinning, dermatitis, pityriasis capitis, scalp fungus, seborrheic conditions, and more. Each therapy session is designed to restore the scalp’s natural balance and, in many ways, help people reconnect with a sense of wholeness that goes deeper than appearance. Self-Reflection Prompts

  1. Have you ever poured so much into your work that you started to neglect your own well-being?
  2. What part of yourself have you unintentionally ignored in the name of “progress”?
  3. In what ways is your body or spirit asking for restoration right now?
  4. How can you begin to treat rest and self-care as stewardship, not luxury?
