I’ve always valued God’s timing, but experiencing two nearly identical moments back-to-back made me recognize that value in a much deeper way.
The first happened when a friend invited me into a project. I didn't approach it prayerfully. We moved from excitement and even though what we created was soo beautiful, there was a block in my spirit :(. I later realized it was because I hadn’t consulted with God about it. I know God can still use it, but it wasn't time. I was honest with my friend about what I was feeling, and it was decided we would not move forward.
Another friend came to me about something similar not too long after, and she had been praying about it for a while. I had also felt a nudge towards interviewing more people about their testimonies, which she asked me to do. This time I fasted. I surrendered my excitement and fleshly desires, and peace followed.
The crazy thing is, my friend (the first one) also experienced divine alignment with another person, too. They both prayed about specific things they were seeking and their connection was so pure. They experienced breakthroughs and it was definitely Spirit-led. God is so good!!😭 So it was like a parallel of similar experiences.
Watching these moments unfold revealed something to me:
There is a difference between doing something for God and doing something with God.
God can still bless others through something you do or create without His leading, but you may feel unsettled if you didn’t fully include Him in the process. So I was reminded to slow down and check in with God first.
